The four-day festival, which began on Wednesday and ends tomorrow at the North Dakota State Fair Center, celebrates Scandinavian heritage and preserves Nordic culture. Models will gather by the restrooms in Oslo Hall at 10:45 a.m. each day they want to participate in the Bunad Parade. The parade will take place throughout the NORSK HØSTFEST festival halls. The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. and end back in Oslo Hall with the Bunad Show starting at 11:30 a.m. A volunteer coordinator will line up participants. The official dates for the 4-day festival will be Wednesday, September 28 th through Saturday, October 1 st 2022. Why Do We Celebrate Scandinavia in North Dakota? It was 39 years ago when the late Chester Reiten, a Norwegian-American and North Dakota resident, and his fellow Scandinavian friends decided to create an event to celebrate t The 37th annual event kicks off at 7 p.m. Sept. 30, with an opening ceremony followed by the Hostfest Eve Concert featuring Doc Severinsen with the Minot Symphony Orchestra. He says 8,000 volunteer hours are needed to fill the more than four-day festival, that takes place in Minot. The board welcomes and appreciates any community and local business support. The Norsk Høstfest is set for September 25-28, and tickets are now on sale.
